” Don’t be tricked into believing that alone time with God is the same thing as loneliness.”
“As a man, it is hard at times to show weakness and uncertainty. As the leader, the head of your household, there is an expectation placed on you to be a certain way. In every family the dynamic is different, and depending on how you were raised, you may have a completely different idea of what that expectation is than your mate has. It is imperative that we seek God for His direction. Without His guidance, we can and will make some poor decisions. It really does not matter how you were raised and or what differences may exist in how you perceive gender roles, God gives us clear direction and instructions on what we are supposed to do in His word. Some may find themselves isolating and withdrawing from others while they seek His direction, but be careful not to separate yourself from the people God has placed in your life to help you.
I totally get it, trust me. You get to a place where you feel as though no one understands what you are going through or how it feels. It becomes easier to just be alone because you don’t have to deal with judging you and giving unwanted suggestions. People fail to support you and over value their opinions. Instead of dealing with the bewildering circumstances, it just becomes easier to be by yourself. Each day it becomes harder to get out of the pit of despair, and each waking moment just drives your further into the realm of the unknown. At some point in your life, you may experience this “wilderness.” This is a time in your life where you don’t feel connected to those around you. You may be in search of answers, or anything to help you better understand, the situations and circumstances you are dealing with in your life. During this period you will be tested and tried. Every relationship you have will be pushed and ambuscaded by people unbeknownst to you as to why they would act in such a way. It is during these times that you have to trust God and depend on Him the most. Jesus found himself in the wilderness being tried and tested by the devil. Here is the Christ, the Son of the Living God, being treated as if he is a mere mortal like us. We must deal with such occurrences just as Jesus did, righteously, and humbled. God will separate you from people, places, and things that prevent you from hearing his voice clearly. But His isolation will not lead you to depression, suffering, and brokenness.
We must understand the importance of this period and time. It is not a time to cleave to the words and presence of those around you, as much as it is a time to get as close as you can to God. As a child of God, you are never alone. Don’t confuse his silence, with absence. You don’t have to isolate, because with an Omnipresent God, it is impossible anyway.”
A man who isolates himself seeks his own desire; He rages against all wise judgment. (Proverbs 18:1 NKJV)
